Australian Handpainted Ceramic Memphis Teapot by Monkeys of Melbourne c.1987

Rare 1980s ‘Monkeys of Melbourne’ Memphis teapot. The studio was established in 1984 by Wendy Cochran and Shane Kennedy. All Monkeys of Melbourne's ceramics were slip cast and painted by hand in Melbourne, Australia.

This piece is signed and dated in brushed lettering "Monkey 87" to the base. The teapot is in good vintage condition with small minor chips. These early hand painted designs are becoming quite rare and collectible.
